Essay number 3

Oh golden Nigel I do covet thee,
That Oscar night you set me free.
Remember the days we all night spooned
Our minds embraced Our hearts in tune

Your glimmering plaque, whose names now faded,
Proud Oscateer's domain invaded.
Red carpet memories once more alive,
Our love rekindled, allowed to thrive

Alone at last is our time uncertain?
Every moment preparing for our last curtain
Prepare the feast and prepare the pyre
Oh golden Nigel, my soul expires

Essay number 2

I would just like to say that I may not be as clever as my fellow nominees, but I have something they don’t . . .breasts. It has been far too long since that little golden delicious of a man has been held against a heaving bosom. After all, even miniatures need a little lovin’ from time to time. I vow to hold Nigel against my bosom at least once a week, maybe more on four day weekends.

Essay number 1

After years of creative, professional, personal, and Oscar night mediocrity, I must say with some brevity that having at least a third of Nigel on his 10th birthday has been the penultimate event of my colorless thirties. If granted to me, Nigel will spend the ensuing year in my corner of the sandbox, the altar of my memory, where dreams can be realized and the flat light of the past will finally cease its clamoring for revision.

The Winner of the Nigel!

Unfortunately we have a three way tie!

Congratulations Tim, Jen, and Chris!

Unfortunately you all can't be losers, so to decide the winner of The Coveted Nigel in this tenth year, I have decided that you each must write a 78 word essay on why you deserve the award more than the other two. Everyone else that voted will read the essays and vote on which one deserves the gloryiest of all statues. The essays must be finished by five PM tomorrow evening and emailed to Eric so he can paste the essays for all to read. Everyone has a chance to vote tomorrow evening and on Tuesday. But they must include a 17 word essay on why they voted for the winner. Tim, Jen and Chris you may vote as well.

Good Luck.

Nigel just needs this helping hand
And if young Nigel says he's happy
He must be happy
He must be happy in his work
We're only making plans for Nigel
He has his future in a British steel
We're only making plans for Nigel
Nigel's whole future is as good as sealed
And if young Nigel says he's happy
He must be happy
He must be happy in his work
Nigel is not outspoken
But he likes to speak
And loves to be spoken to
Nigel is happy in his work
We're only making plans for Nigel
